5-1-2: DEFINITIONS:
For the purpose of this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section:
DISASTER: The occurrence or imminent threat or an event or condition threatening life or property which requires State emergency assistance to supplement local efforts to save lives and protect property, or to avert or lessen the threat of a disaster.
DISASTER SERVICES: The preparation for and carrying out of all emergency functions to prevent, minimize, and repair injury and damage resulting from a disaster other than functions for which military forces are primarily responsible or for search and rescue missions that are the responsibility of the Sheriff. It shall not include nor does any provision of this chapter apply to any condition relating to a labor controversy. (Ord. 251, 7-7-2004, eff. 7-7-2004)
