§ 73.03  LIGHTS.
   When upon any public highway in the city during the period from 1 hour after sunset to sunrise, every motor bicycle shall carry 1 lighted lamp and every motor vehicle 2 lighted lamps showing white lights, or lights of a yellow or amber tint, visible at least 200 feet in the direction toward which each motor bicycle or motor vehicle is proceeding, and each motor vehicle or trailer shall also exhibit at least 1 lighted lamp which shall be so situated as to throw a red light visible in the reverse direction. No motor vehicle or motor bicycle, except those used for fire apparatus, police patrols or ambulances, shall have any lamps which show a red or green light in the direction in  which the motor vehicle or motor bicycle is proceeding. On approaching another vehicle proceeding in an opposite direction, and when within not less than 250 feet of same, any person in charge of a motor bicycle or motor vehicle equipped with electric headlights shall dim, dip or extinguish such headlights.
