It shall be unlawful for the operator of any vehicle to make a “U” turn, that is to turn such vehicle so as to head in the reverse direction, between street intersections, and it shall likewise be unlawful to make any such turn on any street intersection where the making of such a turn is forbidden by official traffic signs displayed at such intersection.
