The Departments heretofore existing in the city known as the Department of Streets, the Department of Water and Light, the Department of Parks, and the Engineering Department, are hereby merged and consolidated into 1 Department to be known as the Department of Public Works; and the offices now and heretofore existing in the city known as the Superintendent of Streets, Superintendent of Water Works, Superintendent of Parks and Engineer, are hereby abolished, and that in lieu thereof there is hereby created an office to be filled by an officer who shall be known as the Superintendent of Public Works.
