§ 33.18  MEMBERS; DUTIES.
   The role of Board members is as follows:
   (A)   Attend all meetings and be in attendance at special park functions;
   (B)   Contribute to defining the organization’s mission and governing the fulfillment of that mission;
   (C)   Carry out the functions of the Office of Board member as specified in the organization’s bylaws and policies;
   (D)   As committee chairperson, to conduct, at a minimum, four committee meetings per year;
   (E)   Each Board member must call the administrative office two days prior to each scheduled meeting to confirm attendance;
   (F)   Members will be evaluated on attendance and active participation at Parks Board and standing committee meetings.  This ongoing evaluation will be administered by the Executive Committee.  At the Executive Committee’s discretion, an attendance report may be sent to any member’s appointing body.
   (G)   Members may receive an allowance for attending Parks Board meetings, not to exceed $300 per year, in accordance with I.C. 36-10-3-9.
      (1)   (a)   Beginning with disbursement of the 1994 allowances, Board members shall be reimbursed a stipend for travel to meetings, at the rate of one- twelfth per meeting of each member’s budgeted allowance, not to exceed $300 per calendar year (January through December).  Board members must be in attendance at meetings to be reimbursed for travel.
         (b)   For the purpose of this division (G), the following definition shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
            MEETING.  Any regularly scheduled monthly meeting.
         (c)   The amount due shall be determined and paid after the regular December Board meeting each year.
      (2)   In the event that a Board meeting is canceled due to inclement weather or lack of a quorum, the stipend for that meeting shall not be paid.
      (3)   The amounts of reimbursement or stipend may be changed from time to time as appropriated and approved by the County Council without changing the intent and method outlined in this division (G).
