§ 94.36  CARE OF IMPOUNDED ANIMALS; NOTICE TO OWNERS.
   (A)   All animals impounded shall be given proper care, food and medicine until disposed of or released as hereinafter provided. The Animal Control Officer or his/her assistants shall make a record in a book kept for such purposes of the breed, color, sex of the animal and whether such animal is licensed or not. If such animal is licensed and wearing a tag, the number of such tag and, if shown or known, the name and address of the owner/keeper of such animal and any other facts serving to identify such animal. Such record shall be open to public inspection.
   (B)   Immediately after the impounding of any animal at the LaPorte County Animal Shelter, a reasonable effort shall be made to notify the owner of the animal as soon as possible if the same can be determined by license or tag. Additionally, the owner of the impounded animal shall be provided with a summary of the facts and circumstances surrounding the impoundment, the disposition procedure(s), and redemption requirements as set forth in this chapter.
