(A) The following territory within the county is divided into County Commissioner districts. The districts contain the following precincts, defined, to wit:
(1) District 1. Consisting of the following precincts: Duneland Beach, Galena 1, Galena 2, Hudson, Long Beach, Michiana Shores 1, Michiana Shores 2, MC01, MC02, MC03, MC04, MC05, MC06, MC07, MC08, MC09, MC10, MC16, MC18, MC19, MC20, MC22, MC23, MC24, Pottawattamie Park, Springfield 1, Springfield 2, Springfield 3, Trail Creek 1.
(2) District 2. Consisting of the following precincts: Center 1, Center 2, Johnson, Kankakee 1, Kankakee 2, Kingsbury, Kingsford Heights, Lincoln, LP25, LB26, LP27, LP28, LP29, LP30, LP31, LP32, LP33, LP34, LP35, LP36, LP37, LP38, LP39, LP40, LP41, LP42, LP43, LP44, Pleasant, Union, Washington, Wills.
(3) District 3. Consisting of the following precincts: Cass, Center 3, Center 4, Center 5, Clinton, Coolspring 1, Coolspring 2, Coolspring 3, Coolspring 4, Coolspring 5, Dewey, Hanna, LaCrosse, MC11, MC12, MC13, MC14, MC15, MC17, MC21, MC45, New Durham 1, New Durham 2, Noble, Prairie, Scipio 1, Scipio 2, Trail Creek 2, Wanatah 1, Wanatah 2, Westville.
(B) Commissioners elected at the general elections of 2000 for full four-year terms shall continue to hold office as residents of the new districts in which their legal residence is located until the terms for which they were elected have expired.
