(A) (1) The processing fee shall be collected before the inmate is released from jail or the fee shall be deducted from the inmate’s commissary fund or from any cash bond that has been posted.
(2) In situations in which the person may be indigent, the Sheriff shall have the authority to waive this fee.
(B) Once collected, $15 from the fee shall be deposited in the jail medical fund, and the remaining $10 shall be placed in the County Sheriff’s commissary fund.
(C) Strict accountability of these funds regarding collection and receipt shall be the sole responsibility of the County Sheriff’s Office, and reports shall be made to the County Auditor’s Office and the Board of Commissioners.
