§ 36.27  NON-REVERTING COUNTY CORONER FUND.
   (A)   County Coroner Non-Reverting Fund.
      (1)   Establishment. There is hereby established for LaPorte County a Non-Reverting County Coroner Fund. The LaPorte County Auditor is authorized to take all appropriate steps to create the Fund, and to budget and account for the same in accordance with all applicable statutes, rules and regulations governing such funds.
      (2)   Source of funds. Fees collected by the coroner for providing coroner services to counties and units of government located outside of LaPorte County, Indiana shall be deposited into the LaPorte County Coroner Non-Reverting Fund.
      (3)   Disbursement of funds. The fiscal body of the county may appropriate money from the County Coroner Non-Reverting Fund as requested by the coroner for payment of coroner expenses, including purchase of coroner supplies, body bags, protective equipment, to offset the cost of vehicle allowances, including but not limited to transportation and mileage, including training, and other expenses incurred by the coroner, and any money remaining in the Fund at the end of the year does not revert to any other fund but continues in the County Coroner Non-Reverting Fund.
   (B)   County coroner service fee for non- county services.
      (1)   Authorized fee. When LaPorte County Coroner performs services as the coroner in connection with a corpse that would otherwise be handled by a coroner in another county, but for the location of the corpse in LaPorte County, the LaPorte County coroner is authorized to charge a fee of $400 to the entity or government unit benefitting from the services provided by the LaPorte County coroner. The coroner shall provide further itemized detail should billing to an entity or government unit exceed the basic $400 cited above.
      (2)   Document request by: Insurance companies, investigative entities, public requests and family member shall be charged fees as follows:
         (a)   $50 per autopsy;
         (b)   $30 per toxicology;
         (c)   $30 per coroner's report.
