(A) Any county office or any person or business located in LaPorte County, receiving a check that is not honored when presented for payment is authorized to collect a protest fee of up to $20 for each dishonored check received.
(B) The office of the Prosecuting Attorney is hereby authorized to collect a service fee of up to $27.50 for each dishonored check which it processes for collection.
(C) All protest fees collected for any county office and service fees collected are to be considered General Fund miscellaneous revenue, subject to the normal appropriation process by the county fiscal body and shall be remitted directly to the County Auditor.
