§ 33.52  GIFTS AND DONATIONS.
   (A)   Park Foundation.  The Foundation is positioned to accept gifts and bequests, which may be held for transfer to the Parks Department when they can be used to their greatest advantage.  These gifts may include:
      (1)   Cash;
      (2)   Appreciated securities;
      (3)   Testamentary gift (estate plan giving);
      (4)   Charitable trust;
      (5)   Insurance; and
      (6)   Land, buildings, and equipment.  These items must be approved by majorities of both Boards before acceptance.
   (B)   Parks Department.  The Parks are positioned to accept gifts which fit the mission and short- and long-range plans of the Department.  These gifts may include:
      (1)   Cash.  To be deposited into the non- reverting fund or channeled through the Park Foundation.
      (2)   Land.  Once land is accepted, either the Parks Department will take immediate possession or it will be channeled through the Park Foundation.  The timetable of development and the type of development shall be completely in the control of the Parks and Recreation Board.
      (3)   Buildings.  All buildings to be donated must be recommended by the Property Committee, attesting to their appropriateness to the Parks Department’s mission.  The Department may require the donator to provide monetary compensation to relocate donated buildings.  Any donated structure’s use and/or placement shall be completely in the control of the Parks and Recreation Board.
      (4)   Equipment.  All equipment to be donated must be recommended by the Superintendent attesting to its appropriateness to the parks.  All equipment must be in good condition and have value to the Department at the time of donation.
