(A) It shall be unlawful to operate any motorized vehicle, motorized foot scooter as defined within M.S. § 169.01, subd. 4(c), as it may be amended from time to time, or motorized bicycle as defined in M.S. § 168.011 or § 171.01, subd. 41, as they may be amended from time to time, upon any public bicycle or public hiking trail within the municipal limits of the city.

(B) The use of snowmobiles will be permitted on the public bicycles and hiking trail between November 1 of each year and April 1 of the next year inclusive, provided that the trail is snow covered. The period of time during which snowmobiles may be used on said trails may be increased or decreased by action of the City Council published in the official newspaper of the city designating the inclusive dates when the use of snowmobiles shall be permitted on said trails.
