The town elects to participate in the Supplemental Death Benefits Fund of the Texas Municipal Retirement System beginning on the first day of the calendar month following written notification to the System of the adoption of the ordinance codified in this section, for the purpose of providing in-service death benefits in the amounts and on the terms provided for in Section XIX of the Texas Municipal Retirement System Act (Title 110B, Vernon’s Texas Civil Statutes, as amended) for each of the town’s employees who are members of the System, and for the purpose of providing post-retirement death benefits as provided in said Section XIX for annuitants whose last covered employment was as an employee of the town.
