(A) Regular meetings. Meetings of the Commission shall be held as determined to be necessary by the members of the Commission or as circumstances may determine. Meetings shall be held at the Village Hall.
(B) Special meetings. Special meetings shall be open, and notice thereof shall be posted 48 hours prior to convening, called by the filing of a notice in writing with the Secretary of the Commission, and signed either by the Chairperson of the Commission, or any Commissioner thereof. This notice shall contain a brief statement of the business to be submitted for the consideration of the Commission and shall set forth the time and place of such special meeting.
(C) Closed sessions. During any regular, special meeting, or meeting for the purpose of interviewing scheduled by the Commission, a closed session may be held for any purpose permitted by law as set forth in ILCS Ch. 5, Act 120, 2. Closed sessions may be limited to Commissioners and such invited persons as the Commission may deem necessary. The Secretary will record the motion to close the meeting, record the roll call vote of the Commissioners on the motion, and keep a verbatim recording of the closed session and written minutes thereof.
(D) Quorum. A majority of the Commission shall constitute a quorum for the conduct of all business.
(E) All the members and officers of the Commission shall receive $100 per meeting; except that, if the Board of Trustees deems it advisable, the Secretary may receive such compensation as may be fixed from time to time by the Board of Trustees and provided for in the appropriation ordinance. If the Police Commission shall deem it advisable to secure technical advice or service of any nature or incur expense in connection with the carrying on of its work, it may do so upon authority from the Board of Trustees and appropriation by the Village Board therefor.
