§ 55.14 WATER CONSERVATION.
   (A)   It is the purpose of this section to grant authority to the President to regulate the use of village water during periods of peak demand in order to conserve the village water and water pressure.
   (B)   No person shall use water from the village water system for outside/outdoor use, including, but not limited to, sprinkling of streets, driveways, sidewalks, patios, decks, cars, lawns and plants, filling of swimming pools or ponds or for any other recreation non-essential purpose, as may be established by the order of the President or his/her designee, in violation of the following provisions.
      (1)   Condition yellow. Conditional yellow shall allow the outside use of the village’s water supply for landscaping, lawn watering and other outdoor purposes only on alternate days. Lots with odd-numbered addresses will be permitted to use village water outside on odd-numbered days and lots with even-numbered address will be permitted to use village water on even-numbered days.
      (2)   Condition red. Condition red shall prohibit the use of village water for all outside uses, including, but limited to, the uses described in division (B)(2) above.
   (C)   The village shall cause signs to be posted in public places throughout the village, advising residents of the watering conditions in effect, if any.
   (D)   Any person, firm or corporation violating any portion of this section between May 15 and September 15 of any calendar year shall be fined not less than $25, nor more than $750, for each offense. Each day that a violation continues or persists shall be deemed a separate offense. In addition, the village shall have the power to shut off or cause to be shut off the water from the premises of any person who violates or refuses to comply with the provisions of this section.
