§ 55.05 SERVICE CONNECTION; PERMIT AND WATER METER AND INSPECTION REQUIRED.
   (A)   No connection with a water main shall be made without a permit being issued and 24 hours notice having been given to the Building Inspector and/or Superintendent of Public Works. All applications for connecting to the village water service, except for single-family residences, shall be reviewed and approved by the Village Engineer prior to the issuance of any connection permit.
   (B)   All such connections shall be made by or under the supervision of the Building Inspector and/or Superintendent of Public Works.
   (C)   Before connection is made with the water distribution system, the premises to be served must be equipped with a meter purchased from the village at a charge of $500 per water meter per residential unit (fee includes inspection fee). The meter charge for a non-residential unit shall be determined by the Superintendent of Public Works. Only water meters purchased from the village shall be installed and utilized in connection with the village’s water system. Meters shall be installed in a location that will be easy for village personnel to access.
   (D)   The village shall inspect the water service to determine that the construction thereof is in accordance with specifications established by the village for such services.
