(A) A person commits battery if he or she knowingly without legal justification by any means causes bodily harm to an individual or makes physical contact of an insulting or provoking nature with an individual.
(B) Any person convicted or adjudicated guilty of committing battery, as defined in division (A), shall be fined an amount not less than $250 nor more than $750.
