§ 157.02 DEFINITIONS.
   For the purpose of this chapter the following definitions apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
   “ARBOR PERMIT.” A valid permit issued by the appropriate authority under the provisions of the city arbor regulations. (See §§ 157.11 through 157.24 .)
   “BUILDABLE AREA.” That portion of a site within the yard on which a structure or improvements, including driveways and parking lots, may be erected.
   “CALIPER.” The diameter of a tree trunk measured at one foot above grade (above the base of the tree).
   “CITY MANAGER.” The Manager for the City of Lake Mary, or his/her designee, or anyone acting under his/her direction and approval.
   “DEVELOPED.” That point in time when the building and site have received final inspections and certificates of occupancy issued.
   “DRIP LINE.” The vertical line running through the outermost portion of the tree crown extending to the ground.
   “HISTORIC TREES.” Any live oak which has a caliper of 24 inches or greater; any red cedar which has a caliper of 12 inches or greater; any long leaf pine or magnolia tree which has a caliper of 20 inches or greater.
   “IMPERVIOUS SURFACE.” Land area covered by a surface treatment with hinders the ability of the underlying soils to percolate water.
   “PRUNING PERMIT.” A valid permit issued by the appropriate authority under the provisions of the city arbor regulations. (See § 157.23 .)
   “REPLACEMENT STOCK (TREE).” Any immature tree, other than palm trees, with a minimum trunk diameter of three and one-half inches measured one foot above grade and having a height of at least 15 feet. (See § 157.17 .)
   “SINGLE-FAMILY LOT.” An area of land not larger than five acres in size, developed for and restricted to, a single-family residence.
   “TREE.” Any living self-supporting perennial plant which has a trunk diameter of at least six inches measured one foot above grade (at the base of the tree) and normally grows to a minimum overall height of 15 feet.
   “TREE PLANTED FOR HARVEST.” All trees which have been planted, or shall be planted, with the bona fide intention at the time of said planting to commercially harvest said trees, in the future. These trees shall include, by way of illustration and not limitation, Christmas trees, slash pines, and pulpwood.
   “YARD AREA.” An open space on the same lot with a building, said space being unoccupied and unobstructed from the ground upward, with the exception of trees and other natural vegetation.
