Requirements are set forth in this chapter for the provision of landscaped areas and buffers between certain land uses and in paved parking areas, to preserve the value of land and buildings on surrounding properties and neighborhoods; to eliminate or minimize potential nuisances such as noise, lights, signs, dirt, litter, unsightly buildings, or parking areas; and to encourage the proliferation, preservation, and protection of trees and vegetation. Buffers provide spacing to reduce potentially adverse impacts of noise, odor, or danger from fires or explosions, and landscaping and preservation of existing trees and vegetation can aid in erosion prevention, oxygen production, beautification, and aesthetic enhancement of improved and vacant land.
