Before the Engineering Department will conduct the final inspection of any completed site, five sets of blue line as-built drawings, signed and sealed by the Design Engineer, and one set of mylar as-built drawings must be provided to the city by the Design Engineer.
(A) These as-built drawings must be the set of approved construction plans and show the final as-built situation superimposed on them. Old information should be crossed out with the as-built condition shown adjacent to it.
(B) These as-built drawings must be signed and sealed by the Design Engineer, who is an engineer registered in the state. The Design Engineer will be held responsible for any discrepancies shown on the as-builts or unauthorized variations from the approved construction plans.
(C) If the as-built conditions differ from the approved construction plans in such a way that the City Engineer deems unacceptable, the city reserves the right to deny approval of the site and demand that the errors be corrected no matter what the cost to the contractor and/or owner (whoever is responsible).
