§ 3 TIE-DOWN SPECIFICATIONS.
   (A)   Unless otherwise specified in this section, the tie-down specifications are as follows.
      (1)   Ties and anchors.

      (2)   Tie-down straps. All tie-down straps shall be 1-1/4 inch by 35/1000 inch galvanized (.30 ounces per square feet) steel strap conforming to federal specification QQ-S-781f, Type 1, Class B, Grade 1 or the equivalent.
      (3)   Single-wide mobile homes. The first over-the-roof and frame tie point must be within 24 inches or the first stud and truss from each end. All other over-the-roof and frame ties shall be as equally spaced as is feasible. All frame ties shall be secured to the main steel beam that runs the length of the home.
      (4)   Double-wide mobile homes. Double-wides shall have frame ties installed within 24 inches of each end and at intervals as described on the preceding chart in (A)(1) above.
   (B)   These specifications are minimum standards set by the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, and are not to be construed by the certifying engineer for the mobile home manufacturer, as meeting the American National Standards Institute A119.l Standards Code. Mobile homes having built-in over-the-roof straps have been certified as being in compliance with the aforementioned code, and all designated tie points should be used.
