For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
“ACCESS BOX.” A key box used for emergency vehicles to gain access through gates.
“PIT.” A barbeque or fire pit constructed of non-combustible material for outdoor domestic/non-commercial cooking or recreational purposes. Self-constructed pits are permitted and shall be made of non-combustible material and not exceed 8 feet in diameter.
“SIREN OPERATED SYSTEM.” A system/ mechanism installed on gates to release the lock and open upon activation of a siren from an emergency response vehicle requiring access.
“SUPERVISED.” Either: 1. An adult person safely maintaining a permitted fire by being outside, in the vicinity and in constant view of the fire, or 2. An alarm system that is connected to a fire sprinkler system to monitor and report status and action.
