(A) The penalty for each violation of the regulations relating to parking, stopping, or standing under any section of this chapter shall be as adopted by resolution of the City Commission. The owner or operator of the motor vehicle may pay the amount of the fine specified on the notice of violation within five days of its issuance in full satisfaction of the citation, or they may request a hearing before a judge of the County Court or hearing officer. Any person electing to appear before the designated Court shall be deemed to have waived his right to pay the civil penalty as set forth herein. The judge or hearing officer, after hearing, shall make a determination as to whether a violation has been proven. The judge may impose a fine not to exceed the maximum penalty prescribed by resolution, plus court costs.

(B) The Clerk of the Court or the Traffic Violations Bureau shall provide the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles with information on any person who fails to pay the fine(s) established, or otherwise satisfy three or more parking violation citations. The Clerk of the Court or the Traffic Violations Bureau, shall supply this information to the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles on a magnetically encoded computer tape reel or cartridge which is machine readable by the installed computer system of the Department, for the purpose of marking the appropriate registration records of those so listed, in accordance with the provisions of F.S. §§ 316.1967(6) and 320.03(8).
(C) Any vehicle found parked in a designated fire safety zone shall be ticketed with an “Illegal Parking” ticket, as used by the city. The fine for parking in a designated fire safety zone shall be $45 plus a $5 surcharge to be used for Fire Department training programs pursuant to and as authorized by F.S. § 316.008(5). Two dollars from each paid parking citation issued under this chapter will be placed into the Law Enforcement Training Fund for the city, as authorized by F.S. § 938.15.
(D) After 30 days, if the fine remains unpaid and if no hearing has been requested, the outstanding balance owed shall be turned over to a collection agency for collection.
(E) The fine schedule for the below violations shall be adopted by resolution and may be amended from time to time by resolution of the City Commission.
