It shall be the responsibility of the owner/customer at any premises where reduced pressure backflow prevention assemblies (RP), double check valve assemblies (DCVA), and pressure vacuum breakers (PVB) are installed to have inspections and operational tests performed at least once a year and more often in those instances where inspections indicate otherwise. These inspections and tests shall be at the expense of the owner/customer and be performed by a certified backflow prevention assembly tester. The Public Works Department shall notify the owner/customer when tests are required. The owner/customer or the certified backflow prevention assembly tester on behalf of the owner/customer shall complete and return tester forms to the Public Works Department by the date indicated.
