§ 10.02 DEFINITIONS.
   For the purpose of this code the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
   CITY. The City of Lake Mary, Florida.
   COMMISSION or CITY COMMISSION. The City Commission of the City of Lake Mary.
   COUNCIL or CITY COUNCIL. Wherever these words appear in this code they shall mean the City Commission of the City of Lake Mary.
   COUNTY. Seminole County, Florida.
   F.S. Florida Statutes.
   MAY. The act referred to is permissive.
   OATH. Includes affirmation and SWEAR includes affirm.
   OFFICERS. References to the City Clerk, City Attorney, or other officers, unless otherwise indicated, shall be construed to refer to officers of the city.
   OWNER. Applied to a building or land, shall include any part owner, joint owner, tenant in common, tenant in partnership, joint tenant, or tenant by the entirety of the whole or of a part of the building or land.
   PERSON. Includes individuals, children, firms, associations, joint adventures, partnerships, estates, trusts, business trusts, syndicates, fiduciaries, corporations, and all other groups or combinations.
   PERSONAL PROPERTY. Includes all property, except real.
   PUBLIC PLACE. Includes any park, cemetery, school yard or open space adjacent thereto, and any lake or stream.
   REGISTERED MAIL. Includes certified mail with return receipt requested.
   SHALL. The act referred to is mandatory.
   STATE. The State of Florida.
   STREET. Streets, avenues, boulevards, roads, alleys, lanes, viaducts, and all other public highways in the city.
   SUBCHAPTER. A division of a chapter, designated in this code by an underlined heading in the chapter analysis and a capitalized heading in the body of the chapter, setting apart a group of sections related by the subject matter of the heading. Not all chapters have subchapters.
   TENANT or OCCUPANT. Applied to a building or land, shall include any person holding a written or oral lease or who occupies the whole or a part of the building or land, either alone or with others.
   WRITING. Includes handwriting, printing, typewriting, and all other methods and means of forming letters and characters upon paper, stone, wood, or other materials.
