§ 70.02 SEASONAL LOAD RESTRICTIONS.
   (A)   From March 20 to May 15 of each year or for any lesser periods of time as may be authorized by resolution of the city from time to time, the weight on any single axle shall not exceed 5 tons on any municipal street not otherwise restricted as provided in M.S. § 169.87, Subd. 1, as it may be amended from time to time. The gross weight on consecutive axles shall not exceed the gross weight allowed in M.S. § 169.825, as it may be amended from time to time, multiplied by a factor of 5 divided by 9. This reduction shall not apply to the gross vehicle weight.
   (B)   The provisions hereof shall not apply to emergency vehicles and public utility vehicles responding to requests for assistance, school buses, garbage trucks, or other vehicles specifically authorized by prior written approval of the Roads Commissioner of the City of Lakeland. The Roads Commissioner of the city shall erect and maintain signs at reasonable locations within the city affecting notice of the seasonal road restrictions imposed herein.
