(A) The Mayor of the city and each City Council member shall receive a monthly stipend, which amount can be changed from time to time by ordinance by the City Council.

(B) The salaries provided by this section shall be paid annually or more frequently as directed by the City Council.

(C) In the case of an illness or extended leave of absence that requires the City Council member to be away from that member's position for a period of more than 2 months consecutively, there shall be no monthly pay given for the absent period.
