§ 8.22.070 BASIS FOR ESTABLISHING THE AREAS OF SPECIAL FLOOD HAZARD.
   The areas of special flood hazard identified by the Federal Emergency Management Agency in a scientific and engineering reports to be entitled “The Flood Insurance Study (FIS) for Mohave County, Arizona and Incorporated Areas”, as dated February 6, 2009, with accompanying Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs) dated February 6, 2009 and the area of the Colorado River mapped by the U.S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Reclamation and subject to provisions of Public Law 99-450, Colorado River Floodway Act, and all subsequent amendments and/or revisions, are hereby adopted by reference and declared to be a part of this chapter. The FIS and attendant mapping is the minimum area of applicability of this chapter and may be supplemented by studies for other areas which allow implementation of this chapter and which are recommended to the Floodplain Board by the Floodplain Administrator. The Floodplain Board, within its area of jurisdiction, shall delineate (or may, by rule, require developers of land to delineate) for areas where development is ongoing or imminent, and thereafter as development becomes imminent, floodplains consistent with the criteria developed by Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Director of the Arizona Department of Water Resources.
