The operator of every watercraft subject to the provisions of this chapter ordered to stop and he or she shall maneuver in such a way as to permit the peace officer on a police vessel to come alongside. If such an operator is ordered to stop by a peace officer situated upon the shore, he or she shall immediately maneuver his or her watercraft to the shore adjacent to the peace officer.
