If a member desires to close the discussion on a pending motion so that it will come to an immediate vote, the member may call for the question (or motion for previous question, or motion to vote now). A call for the question must be seconded and approved by 2/3 of the Council. A call for the question stops all debate on the item and requires the Council to vote immediately. A call for the question is not subject to debate.
