§ 2.04.370 AMENDING A MOTION.
A motion may be amended by either a modification made by the maker prior to receiving a second or upon a motion to amend made by any member after the main motion is seconded. A motion to amend must be seconded and passed by a majority of the Council. The next vote shall be on that motion to amend. If the motion to amend fails, the original motion remains on the floor. If the motion to amend succeeds, the main motion is replaced with the amended motion and is no longer on the floor.
