§ 2.60.040 POLITICAL ACTIVITY.
   A.   No officer, official or employee of the city shall use any influence or pressure upon any employee to obtain any assessment or contribution of money or time, either direct or indirect, for any political campaign or personal gain.
   B.   Participation by any city employee in political activity regarding Lake Havasu City municipal elections shall be governed by the provisions of this section.
      1.   During working hours no employee may solicit or attempt to solicit support for a candidate or political party involved in a Lake Havasu City municipal election from any city employee or city appointed official.
      2.   No employee may serve on the campaign committee of a candidate participating in a Lake Havasu City municipal election.
      3.   Employees may exercise their rights as citizens to vote and to express opinions as an individual citizen, but not as a representative of Lake Havasu City.
   C.   No paid employee may seek election to public office with Lake Havasu City while still employed by the city nor seek appointment to a Lake Havasu City Board or Commission; exception: those boards or commissions specifically required to have a city employee representative by state or local law.
   D.   No paid employee may use their position, city equipment, or city supplies to sell, solicit, or distribute any campaign material during working hours and/or in a uniform used by or identified with the city government.
   E.   No paid employee will use his/her position to introduce, guide, or recommend any candidate for public office on city property and/or in a uniform used by or identified with the city government.
