(A) This chapter was enacted pursuant to Indiana Home Rule and Planning Enabling Legislation (I.C. 36-1-3-4 and 36-7-4-700 et seq., as amended) and authorizes the Lake County Plan Commission to review and approve or disapprove plats for subdivisions throughout the geographic bounds of unincorporated Lake County. This authority extends to the development or resubdivision of undeveloped portions of already recorded plats.
(B) No land shall be subdivided within legal boundaries until the subdivider or his or her subdivision agent have met the requirements and stipulations of this chapter.
