(A) Pursuant to I.C. 5-2-8-1, the Lake County Council establishes the Lake County Sheriff’s Department Continuing Education Fund, Fund No. 148, a non-reverting fund, established for the deposit of funds collected by the Lake County Sheriff’s Department pursuant to I.C. 33-37-8-4 or I.C. 33-37-8-6 and the funds shall be used for the continuing education and training of law enforcement officers employed by the Lake County Sheriff and for equipment and supplies for law enforcement purposes pursuant to I.C. 5-2-8-6.
(B) Pursuant to I.C. 5-2-8-1(d), distribution of money in the Lake County Sheriff’s Department Continuing Education Fund shall be made to the Lake County Sheriff’s Department without necessity of first obtaining an appropriation from the Lake County Council.
(C) Any money remaining in the Fund at the end of the year shall not revert to the General Fund but continue in the Sheriff’s Continuing Education Fund, Fund No. 1488.
