(A) Captions. Sections and other captions are part of this subchapter.
(B) Exceptions.
(1) Existing facilities. Food service facilities and equipment in use before the effective date of this subchapter, that do not meet the design and fabrication requirements of this subchapter, shall be acceptable if they are in good repair, capable of being maintained in sanitary condition, and if the food-contact surfaces (if any) are in compliance with the requirements of this subchapter.
(C) Effective date. This subchapter is effective after January 11, 1960.
