If any section or provision of a section of these codified ordinances or the application thereof to any person or circumstance is held invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, the invalidity or unconstitutionality shall not affect other provisions or applications of the section or related sections which can be given effect without the invalid or unconstitutional provision or its application, and to this end the provisions of this code of ordinances are severable.
