A. Prohibition: It shall be unlawful for any person to use or permit to be used in the village any jump animal trap or similar device with spring activated jaws, made out of steel or other hard substance, of the type commonly used for the trapping of furbearing animals, which is capable of inflicting cruelty upon dogs or cats or other types of animals, or which constitutes a hazard to small children.
B. Penalty: Any person who violates any of the provisions of this section shall, upon a conviction thereof, be fined in an amount of not less than twenty five dollars ($25.00) nor more than the maximum provided in section 1-4-1 of this code. Each such trap that is laid or used shall constitute a separate violation. (Ord. 83-23, 12-12-1983; amd. 2009 Code)
