8-2-1: RULES OF WORD CONSTRUCTION:
   A.   Words used in the present tense shall include the future.
   B.   Words used in the singular number shall include the plural number.
   C.   Words used in the plural number shall include the singular number.
   D.   The word shall is mandatory.
   E.   The word may is permissive.
   F.   The word lot shall include the words piece and parcel.
   G.   The word building includes all other structures of every kind regardless of similarity to buildings.
   H.   The phrase used for shall include the phases arranged for, deigned for, intended for, maintained for and occupied for.
   I.   All measured distances shall be exact to the nearest foot, rounding up for fraction of six inches (6") or more and rounding down for fractions less than six inches (6").
   J.   The word Village shall mean the Village of Lake Barrington, Illinois. (Ord. 90-O-16, 7-3-1990)
