The license year for any business license issued by the Village shall begin on May 1 and end on the following April 30, unless otherwise specifically provided by the business license as approved by the Village. The Village Clerk shall e-mail all holders of a business license, at the email address of the primary contact for the business as provided on the application received by the Village, a notice to renew the respective business license reflecting the date of the expiration of the current business license held by the licensee approximately three (3) weeks prior to the date of such expiration; provided, however, that a failure to send out such notice, or the failure of a business licensee to receive such notice shall not excuse the licensee from obtaining a new business license, or a renewal thereof in a timely manner, nor shall any failure to receive such notice be a defense in an action for operating a business within the Village without a license.
