Section 14.5  First Election of City Officers. 
The first election of the Mayor and members of the City Council provided for in this Charter shall be held on Tuesday, November 8, 1983, at the same election upon which this Charter is voted upon. The candidates for elective office shall be nominated in the same manner specified for nomination in this Charter, on petitions furnished by and filed with the Lake Angelus Village Clerk. The Mayor shall be elected for a term to commence with the effective date of this Charter and to continue until the third Monday after the general City election in 1987, at 7:30 p.m., and until his successor is elected and qualifies. The two (2) candidates for Council receiving the highest number of votes shall serve for terms to commence with the effective date of this Charter and to continue until the third Monday after the general City election in 1987, at 7:30 p.m., and until their successors are elected and qualify. The two (2) candidates for Council receiving the next highest number of votes shall serve for terms commencing with the effective date of this Charter and shall continue until the third Monday after the general City election in 1985, at 7:30 p.m., and until their successors are elected and qualify.
