Notwithstanding the provisions of any ordinance or permit to the contrary, upon notice from the City of Lake Angelus, its Mayor, City Council, the Building Official, the Earth Change Official, or the Police Department, that work on any property within the City is being done in violation of any State statute or local land use ordinance, construction code or nuisance ordinance, such work shall immediately be stopped. Stop work orders may be issued for violations of Chapter 658 (Public Nuisances), Title Four of Part Twelve (the Zoning Code), Chapter 1470 (Soil Erosion and Sedimentation Control) and all construction codes adopted by reference. The stop work order shall be in writing, shall identify the statute or ordinance which is being violated and shall be given to the owner of the property involved, or to the owner's agent, or to the person doing the work and shall be posted upon the property in a manner which will be in plain view of any person doing work upon the property. Work may not be resumed on that site until the violation is remedied and the posted notice removed by the enforcement official.
