§ 32.11 BUILDING INSPECTOR.
   (A)   Employment status. Building Inspector is a hired position.
   (B)   General statement of duties. Inspects buildings and construction projects to determine if state and municipal building code regulations have been met.
   (C)   Supervision received. Responsible to Town Manager.
   (D)   Supervision exercised. None.
   (E)   Duties.
      (1)   Issues building permits and inspects buildings to determine if state and municipal regulations are met;
      (2)   Interprets regulations and codes to builders and property owners and assists in altering construction plans to meet established standards;
      (3)   Assists in making modifications and additions to the Municipal Building Code;
      (4)   Attends regular Town Board meetings and special meetings if required and reports to the Town Manager; and
      (5)   Makes regular drives around town to look for unauthorized and unpermitted building.
   (F)   Qualifications.
      (1)   Knowledge, skills and abilities: knowledge of state and municipal building regulation and codes; knowledge of construction techniques;
      (2)   Will attend ongoing training to keep current with changing Building Codes and practices; and
      (3)   A degree from and accredited high school and ten years’ experience in the construction field or four years as a Building Inspector.
