(A) Employment status. Municipal Judge is an appointed position.
(B) General statement of duties. Presides over the Municipal Court on a monthly basis.
(C) Supervision received. Accountable to Board of Trustees.
(D) Supervision exercised. Shall supervise the activities of the Court Clerk.
(E) Duties.
(1) Presides over sessions of the Municipal Court and renders decisions on traffic violations and minor offenses under the jurisdiction of the Municipal Court; and
(2) Provides current written reports on dispositions to the Town Board at each regular meeting.
(F) Qualifications.
(1) Knowledge, skills and abilities. A working knowledge of the Municipal Court system; the ability to deal with the public; and
(2) Desired education and experience. Preferably B.A. or B.S. degree from an accredited college and prior experience in a legal field.
