(A) All sidewalks hereafter constructed in front of or abutting upon any lot, lots or lands in the town shall be made of concrete. The cement to be used shall be portland cement of the “Ideal” brand or any amount of equal quality.
(B) All sidewalks in the town shall be constructed and be of materials following, to wit.
(1) All walks shall have a foundation or cushion of cinders or clean coarse gravel at least six inches thick thoroughly tamped and settled, upon which shall rest the concrete.
(2) In all business walks, the concrete shall be at least six inches thick, with a topping or surface in addition at least in addition at least one inch thick. In all residential walks, the concrete shall be at least five and one-half inches thick with a topping or surface in addition at least three-fourths of an inch thick. The concrete of the body of all walks shall be composed of one part cement, two parts clean sand and four parts clean gravel thoroughly mixed and well-tamped.
(3) The topping on surfaces shall be composed of one part cement and two parts clean sand.
(4) All sidewalks shall be divided into blocks not more than three and one-half feet wide by six feet long.
(5) All business walks shall be ten feet wide from the outer edge of the building line and shall be supported on the outer edge by a curb six inches thick of same composition as the body of the sidewalk, and faced with concrete one inch thick composed of one part cement and two parts clean sand. The curb shall be less than 20 inches deep and shall be separated from the walk, but shall be continuous across the front of the lot or lands where such sidewalk is constructed.
(6) In residential walks, the topping or surface shall extend down over each edge of the walk to the bottom level of the cushion or foundation.
(7) The outer corners of all walks at the street and alley corners shall be curbed and the outer edges of curbs and the edge of all residential sidewalks shall be rounded.
(8) All residential walks shall be four feet wide, except as hereinafter provided and the inner edge shall be one foot from the outer edge of the abutting lots or lands.
(9) All walks on Broadway and Walnut Streets between Second and Third Streets shall be six feet wide and the inner edge of such walks shall be placed against the outer edge of the property line.
