§ 31.06 COMPENSATION SCHEDULE.
   (A)   Mayor. For the duties and responsibilities associated with the position, the Mayor of the town shall receive as compensation the amount of $100 per month plus a monthly credit against his or her water and sewer charges for his or her principal residence equal to, but not more than, the amount charged for any given month during the Mayor’s current term of office.
   (B)   Other members of the Board of Trustees. For the duties and responsibilities associated with the position as a member of the Board of Trustees, such member shall receive as monthly compensation an amount equal to, but not more than, the water and sewer charges for his or her principal residence for any given month during that member’s current term of office.
   (C)   Commencement of compensation. The compensation as herein provided for the Mayor and members of the Boards of Trustees shall not take effect during the current term for which such officer has been elected or appointed. The compensation as herein provided shall take effect after the regularly scheduled municipal election, which shall be April 1, 2014, and shall begin the month the duly elected Mayor and the other members of the Board of Trustees have been sworn in for the next term of office.
   (D)   Mandatory review. During the budget process for each even-numbered year, the Board of Trustees shall consider adjustment of the amount of compensation set forth in this section. As part of this review, the Board of Trustees shall review compensation for elected officials provided by comparable Colorado municipalities, using appropriate sources including, but not limited to, the Colorado Municipal League. Any adjustment of compensation shall be by ordinance only.
