A suitable dog pound shall be provided by the town, within or without the city limits. All dogs that are detained for whatever reason shall be immediately transported to (or done as soon as applicable) to the appointed pound or shelter for the purpose of boarding and caring for any dog impounded under the provisions of this chapter.
