§ 35.017 POLICE OFFICER.
   (A)   The police officer shall have all authority granted law enforcement officers by the statutes of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and the personnel policies adopted by the City Council. Police officers shall obey all legal orders of the Chief of Police, Deputy Chief or ranking officer and shall, in general, perform all duties assigned to them by the Chief of Police or by the statutes of the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
   (B)   The police officer shall take the oath set forth in § 228 of the Kentucky Constitution and the additional oath set forth in KRS 62.040.
   (C)   The police officers shall execute an official bond in favor of the city in the amount of $2,000.
   (D)   Police officers shall be paid an annual salary as passed in the annual budget ordinance for the city.
