§ 35.016A DEPUTY CHIEF.
   (A)   (1)   The Deputy Chief shall be second in command of the Police Department behind the Chief of Police and shall be in charge of the Police Department in the absence of the Chief and, in general, perform all duties incident to the office of Deputy Chief and shall be answerable only to the Chief of Police, the City Council and the Mayor.
      (2)   The Deputy Chief shall have all authority granted law enforcement officers by the statutes of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and the personnel policies adopted by the City Council.
   (B)   The Deputy Chief shall take the oath set forth in § 228 of the Kentucky Constitution and the additional oath set forth in KRS 62.040.
   (C)   The Deputy Chief shall execute an official bond in favor of the city in the amount of $2,500.
   (D)   The Deputy Chief shall be paid an annual salary as passed in the annual budget ordinance for the city.
