§ 35.016 POLICE CHIEF.
   (A)   Police Chief. The Chief of Police shall be in charge of the Police Department and in general perform all duties incident to the office of Chief of Police and shall be answerable only to the City Council and the Mayor. He or she shall recommend the appointment of police officers to the Mayor and shall have all authority granted law enforcement officers by the statutes of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and the personnel policies adopted by the City Council.
   (B)   Oath. The Chief of Police shall take the oath set forth in § 228 of the Kentucky Constitution and the additional oath set forth in KRS 62.040.
   (C)   Bond. The Chief of Police shall execute an official bond in favor of the city in the amount of $2,500.
   (D)   Salary. The Chief of Police shall be paid an annual salary as passed in the annual budget ordinance for the city.
