(A) There is hereby established a Police Department in the city.
(B) The Police Department shall consist of a Chief of Police and regular police officers as may be authorized by the City Council.
(C) The Police Chief and all police officers shall be appointed by the Mayor at will, and may be removed by the Mayor at will except as tenure and terms of employment are protected by statute, ordinance or contract.
(D) The Police Department of the city and each officer thereof shall comply with all reasonable rules and regulations issued by the Kentucky Crime Commission to facilitate the administration of the Kentucky Law Enforcement Foundation Program Fund and shall further the purposes of KRS 15.410 through 15.510.
